Point Park Concert Series Finishes Season with Prince

As the summer is quickly coming to an end, downtown Parkersburg has one last celebration which will bring their summer concert series to a close. On the first friday of every month, the Point Park Concert has drawn upwards of 2,000 people at a time. For their last concert, Aspire Salon is sponsoring The Purple Xperience, a tribute to Prince.
The Purple Xperience is a five-piece tribute band from Prince’s birthplace Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have been touring since 2011, bringing the memories of Prince and The Revolution to audiences of all generations. Since the band’s birth in 2011, the Purple Xperience has performed for over 300 thousand fans and shared the stage with Atlanta Rhythm Section, Cameo, Cheap Trick, Fetty Wap, Gin Blossoms and The Time.
Prince was an American singer songwriter, producer and a multi-instrumentalist. His music incompases a wide variety of styles including funk, new wave, pop, psychedelia, R&B, rock and soul. He sold over 100 million records world-wide making him one of the best selling artists of all time. Throughout his career, he won seven Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, a Golden Globe Award, an Academy Award for the film “Purple Rain” and in 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2016, Prince passed away at the age of 57.
Be sure to bring your friends and family to the free concert in the heart of Parkersburg for a great experience and to pay respect to such a successful musician. The Purple Xperience embodies the spirits and sounds of Prince with front man, Marshall Charloff, channeling the vocals and moves from the icon himself. The Purple Xperience leaves no one disappointed. It will be held September 1 at 8pm at the Smoot Theatre due to the weather forecast.
