American Sampler Craft Show to be a Full House
by Ashley Lewis
The 29th annual American Craft Sampler takes place Nov. 15 at WVU at Parkersburg.
The craft show is a fundraiser set up for the staff council at WVU Parkersburg. It originally started as an opportunity for faculty and staff to show off their talents. A late faculty member, Mary Lott, started this event.
“This event was inspired by a co-worker of mine at WVU P. Her name was Mary Lott and she is no longer with us, but the craft show still lives on by her vision,” Dean of Academic Affairs Pat Mollohan said.
The event is one of the two main fundraisers for the staff council. As of right now, there are about 10 vendors attending the show. Last year’s craft show was a full house. The event has been very successful in the past.
“Usually, there is about $1,000 raised for staff council,” Mollohan said.
Baked goods, a hot dog sale and a raffle will also take place during the fundraiser. This event will take place at the College Activities Center on Nov. 15 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
