Mother Danger

America is at war and the opponent is Mother Nature. In the recent weeks, America has been hit by two major hurricanes causing devastating loss across the country and Atlantic. It has been a major loss for millions of people. From hurricane Harvey and Irma there have been around 150 fatalities reported. Hurricane Harvey alone affected nearly 48,700 homes.
Harvey affected the Southern parts of Texas and Louisiana and also flash floods across Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. Hurricane Irma ravaged parts of Anguilla, Barbados, Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, Turks and Caicos Islands, The United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands along with many other smaller islands.
All this devastation and loss that our country, and those near us, it can leave people feeling helpless being so far away. Luckily, with the right trusted organizations and companies, it is possible to help out if you are not able to actually visit to help restore.
If you are weary of which organizations to use there is a website called Charity Navigator, which can help you find which charity or organization is the right one for you. Some of the organizations are ShelterBox, Americares, American Red Cross, World Relief along with many others.
ShelterBox is a global organization that is funded by individuals, organizations and other resources that use the money to provide a shelter. Each box contains a family-sized tent, solar lights, water storage and purification equipment, thermal blankets and cooking utensils. They also change the boxes based on the natural disaster to make each one as useful as possible for every scenario. Americares and the American Red Cross deliver medical supplies and other items to help those in need.
