Downtown Throwdown Returns to Parkersburg

If you love BBQ and brews then the Bicentennial Park on Sept. 16 is the place for you to be. Downtown Parkersburg is partnering with the Parkersburg Jaycees to host the Downtown Throwdown BBQ & Brewfest on September 16 at 6 p.m. which will feature many of West Virginia’s craft beers.

Attendees will have the option to purchase BBQ and other food items from the different vendors. Towards the end of the evening attendees can cast a vote to their favorite BBQ item in the ballot box at the main gate. At the end of the event, a winner will be announced and receive an award. There will be entertainment provided by Matty Petty and the Whiskey Chasers and Back Porch Alibi.

The food vendors for the event include:

  • Grand Pointe Conference and Reception Center
  • The Par Bar and Grill (The Par on Emerson)
  • Spats at The Blennerhassett Hotel

Tickets are being sold online at www.downtownpkb.com, the Blennerhassett Hotel and the Parkersburg Brewing Co. for $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Your ticket allows you into the event, a pilsner glass and your first drink. This will be a great time, so bring your friends to kick off the fall season with some good food, drinks and a great show.
