Savor Saturday

If you have ever wanted to go out and try the different foods that Parkersburg has to offer, this Saturday is the perfect day to do it. March 4 is a great time to bring your family to explore downtown Parkersburg. With 12 restaurants participating in the event, there is sure to be a new food for you to try.

This event is a collaboration with the Classic Plastics Toy Store, which is holding a Toy and Comic Expo at the Parkersburg Art Center on Friday and Saturday. This event will help highlight and promote downtown restaurants and showcase their unique offerings. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, 12 restaurants will have samples that customers can pay $1 each to try. When customers purchase a sample, they will receive one entry for a grand prize drawing, which is dinner for two at any downtown restaurant and also two tickets to the Taste of Parkersburg event that is on Sat. June 3. Customers can also get an extra entry into the drawing by checking in to the event on Facebook.

The participating restaurants and their samples are:

Daily Grind – Tuscan Chicken or Spicy Avocado Flatbread
James IGA / Maka Mia Pizza – Pizza or cheese bread
Crystal Cafe – Cinnamon roll or vegetable soup
Marilyn’s Corner Cafe at Matheny Motors – Roast Beef sandwich bite
Parkersburg Brewing Co. – Pretzel bite & beer sample
Timely Brew Cafe – Hot chocolate or signature coffee
Village Cakery LLC – Vanilla & Raspberry cupcake
Toscano in Appalachia – Wine sample
DownTown Specialty Bakery – Pepperoni roll or cupcake
The Coffee Bar – 6oz Goldie Hawn
Starbucks at The Blennerhassett Hotel – 8 oz. Cup – Passion, Sangria, Peachy Green, or Black Tea and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies (chocolate chip or peanut butter)
Breads & Beyond Bakery – Stromboli or spinach feta pocket

Maps will be available at the Parkersburg Art Center when you arrive to the 2017 Classic Plastics Toy & Comic Expo. This is a great opportunity to go out and support the downtown community. Be sure to check in on Facebook to receive the extra entry into the drawing.
